Hello and welcome back. And now – continuing with the career series – today we will look into the world of Psychology. Well, arts is indeed a vast field – so I have decided to discuss the subjects and its depths – one by one, beginning with Psychology.
So, you are the one who wish to ask – how’s your mind and mood. You do not see an act just as the action but as a series of motives wired by the neurons of the brain. You think beyond the realm of thoughts – You think Psychology.
Psychology is indeed a very important subject in present times. With so much happening all around – counselling and proper psychological guidance and healing becomes very important. So, the role of a psychologist or clinical psychiatrist is growing large and wider. From schools to colleges – homes to offices everywhere – you would find a job. And the scope of setting up your own clinic in a bid to be self employed is huge and for good ones its very lucrative as well.
Coming to the core – you have a very bright future ahead.

After completion of studies - you can either opt for further research and studies or you can begin practice under a psychologist or established organisation and set up your own clinic later as per your choice. Here - you can focus on being psychologists for students in schools and colleges or being psychologists specialised to handle corporate stress and pressures or psychologists for the couple in agony and seeking marital bliss. The options are many apart from being the psychiatrist in an asylum.
Above all - you can prepare yourself for UPSC - as one of the optional papers of mains in civil service examinations is psychology. That implies - if you are a civil service aspirant - you would be prepared well for one of the scoring paper choices of UPSC.
Also psychologists are in-demand for crime branches too - as many psychologists work in collaboration with police department in figuring out the traits of criminals and in nabbing the culprits from among the suspects. In the govt. sector - the scope of psychologists are wide. Even in Army selection boards and army camps - psychologists find a place both for assessing the potentialities of new candidates and to motivate people in the war prone areas to move on - amidst so much turmoil all around.
