Students VS Parents - The Great Parents' Meet at school

Hello everybody. So, your diaries have been marked for the great dreadful date which you always try to avoid, yet your parents love to attend - the great Parent's meet at school. In case, you know, you are the topper - the apple of the eye of everyone - great in extra-curricular too, you would boastfully bring in your parents to school. But, even the most supremely fair student has this fear - fear of any derogatory comments which could ruin the impression of his  / hers in front of their parents, resulting into, say, cancelling of the much awaited shopping in the evening. Oh boy! its so dangerous right. Well, its not quite so. And, although I'm the friend of every student, I would say, please request your parents as well, to read this blog... For the students.... First thing, remember, this is a day, where your performance would be discussed. It's not any gaming arena, wherein, everyone is in extreme urge to belittle you to win, least criticizing zone.Hence, even if

The Great Wake-Up Alarm

Recently, when I was returning from Delhi back to my city of love - Kolkata, by train, a very strange incident took place. Suddenly, at about 8 pm, a sound like beep kept buzzing. With the increase in terror attacks and rail accidents, almost everybody was in a fix. Railway police, mechanic, technician, every expert were called up to locate the source of the sound. And, after about half an hour, the rail employees also planned to call up the bomb-squad of the next station. And just when they were on the verge of making the call, a child of 7 yrs, revealed that this beep was nothing but the alarm tune set in his mobile, so that he could wind up his studies, and go to sleep, as he had to wake up at 4 every morning. Every body was awestruck. His parents embarassed. And then, the entire compartment burst into huge roar of laughter. Although, the young chap got a good earful from his parents, but, everyone had a good dose to enliven the boring train journey. However, have you ever th

Maths Fear : Why Dear

Most of you have this fear - an inexplicable fear of numbers. And there lurks this feeling that 'I might fail in this subject for sure'. The equations seem to be haunting you every day and night. And most of your schooling days are passed cursing the pics and names of the great mathematicians whose references are there throughout the text-books. Well, your friend Prabhasini is back here again, with an amazing thing to share about myself. I was never ever scared of Maths. Rather, I really loved this subject as a student. And, I always managed to score good marks in this subject. Most people said back then, that it was a matter of fact - a genetic genius at play. Well, I do belong to an affluent family of academicians, but to tell the truth, I myself am pretty average as a student, sitting for exams. But, I am a true Indian - who are great at framing jugaad tips and easy tricks. And all I did, was just that. Although its true - there is never a shortcut route to success. Bu

Late for school

So we all have this common problem - we love our school, but we are late for school. We have morning school. We wake up early, brush our teeth, have breakfast, get ready. But, then, we somehow, almost everyday, manage to have that one parent screaming out to us - Fast, buck - up, else - you will be Late For School. Our entire school memory seems almost incomplete without a memory of our parents chasing the school bus, along with us, sometimes on foot, sometimes by car. And, it seems like a great live video game experience - we feel the adrenaline rush to catch u with the school bus. We are the racer here. And we are late for school. What a chase. But, being late is neither a fancy thing, nor a good habit. And if cultivated, it can indeed lead us to a lot of troubles in later years, esp. as we grow up. Imagine - you breaking up with your someone special, just because you couldn't help being late. Imagine you being rejected your dream job, just because you got late. Imagine, you
