Statue of wonders around the world

Hello and welcome back! A few days ago, India made a significant impact upon geographical landmarks, by erecting the world's tallest structure - The Statue of Unity, wherein is sculpted our Iron man, Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel - who was the man responsible for uniting the diverse states into an united identity of a nation called India. This 182m long statue erected in the state of Gujarat, is an architectural marvel signifying both India's significant progress in the field of science, architecture and technology and India's message to the world - that it believes in Unity not just of It's People, but the Unity of all people who are citizens of the world, irrespective of wherever they originate from. Inaugural day - Source : Indiatimes.com Indeed it has become a huge sensation and attraction for tourism in India, esp. in Gujarat. Well, lets look at some other wonderful Statues in the World, which has human qualities associated with them. 1. Statue of Freedom

Why is 17th November so important - It's 'Use less stuff day'

Hello and welcome back everybody. And, I hope by now, many of you would be gradually gearing up for winters - December is soon to arrive. And, that means for many - you have unpacked your winter wears and opened up your storages and almost everyone of you might have felt - overwhelming. Why? Well, it's indeed very common for almost every women and a significantly increasing number of men in the world over, to look at their over-stuffed cupboards and sigh exclaiming they have nothing to wear. Despite this, with easy access to our cash and excellent credit facilities available, we seldom thing twice before making another purchase - only to frown later due to lack of storage space. And, many people often report that they have so much more than required in their lives that they often fail to recognise their own stuff. After first few uses, they probably haven't noticed the item again. Ironically, despite such materially filled lives, these people are still complaining that th

Make in 'Modern India' or 'Confused over basic Human Rights' - which way is the BJP government heading.

Recently I was going through all the updates of Sabarimala and what I came across was indeed shocking. With BJP's Mr. Amit Shah condemning the order given by Supreme Court of India, and remarking publicly that  Supreme Court can’t give orders that can’t be followed’ (on #Sabarimala issue), I indeed wonder, will I find myself living in a country where the Law and Order will be decided upon the fancy of ministers and their notion on what can or cannot be followed.  Although there is not much that one can expect from our politicians, still - when you come down as a supremo facie presenting yourself as the potential leader of people, one can expect that you should have at least a check upon what you are conveying in a public forum. Indeed, it's ridiculous and difficult to understand that how come the Supreme Court with a panel of such experienced and expert legal professionals will decide something which cannot be followed. And, even more ridiculous is this - Just because

T18 train in India - the new superstar 'Humsafar' of Indian Railway stories

Hello and Welcome back. Recently when I was in Serbia, I heard many people exclaim that Indians love trains. Indeed we do. From being the connector of freedom fighters to being the backbone of the early industrial developments in India, our Indian railways have a long legacy and several epic stories to pass on to several generations. And, our love for trains have been immortalised by popular Bollywood sagas, time and again like - DDLJ and Chennai express. Being in train is like a magical journey, where one can expect the unexpected to come. So, why not show-off our love for trains and give it a makeover this Diwali. Well, this is probably what the railway authorities might have thought. And the result - the launch of T18, the most technically advanced train in India. Image from Google Search - financialexpress.com What are it's features and why is it so special? Which stations will it connect? Read on to find out … T18 - one of its kind is the first ever engine-less tra

Long working hours a great disruption - Yes that's true.

So, today's a Sunday, and many of you have already a feeling of Monday blues set in. You begin cursing your work + life in the worst possible manner. You feel so dampened thinking of tomorrow, that ultimately, you end up spoiling your Sunday brunch mood as well. And, nothing can seem to come to your rescue, as you know you need that money coming out of the job. And, even if you quit one company, you are made aware by your social circles that the conditions aren't very different elsewhere. Just the two faces of the same coin. And, your family life has been topsy-turvy, with almost no work-life balance at all. SO, you sit down grumpily, with a weary mood, and think about drinking hard this evening, to help you get through your day tomorrow. Well, this is pretty much the case of every employee in almost every sector of the economy, esp. in India. A recent TOI report titled - " Tedious duty hours and too many landings push pilots to the edge"   stated that pilots
