Christmas Special - The Winter Look

Hello and welcome back everybody!

Its just a few days ahead of Christmas, and the festive excitement has already engulfed the air.
Amidst all these, we also have this feeling - how am I to look gorgeous in the Christmas night. Especially, if you have a planned night-over with your family or friends or that special someone, you would definitely want to look gorgeously radiant.

After all, its the Messiah - Christ's birthday, and we all are in festive spirits. And, we would also love those compliments. But, with hoards of tips available, and the dominant trend of opting for natural home-remedies over chemical options, how do we simplify this task of zeroing in. Well, here are a few tips chosen among many, simplifying your task of deciding, that can really help you out -

Skin care

 1.      It is the season of oranges. While you savor the pulp, store the peel. Dry it. Make a paste of it in the mixer grinder. And, you are done with your magic beauty powder. Use it with honey, may be you could mix chickpea flour or oat meal with it, and apply on your face. Use it every alternate day, for 20 minutes or till it dries. Wash it with lukewarm water. The golden glow is sure to set in, with the citrus freshness.

 2.    We all have turmeric in our home. Mix a pinch or one teaspoon as per your requirement, with honey or  chickpea flour. It is a wonderful antiseptic.

3.     If you are rather busy, with a packed up schedule, simply use oatmeal scrub everyday. Wash your face with saltwater every  two days for better effects.

4. Although you might not feel like, drink lots of water, and keep yourself hydrated.

These are going to  render you the perfect winter look.

 Hair care -

You might have dandruff of dry frizzy hair in this season. Although we would dread the water, shiver on the thought of the chills after a shower, the best advice is - bath, and bath regularly, washing your hair. Shampoo twice a week, with a mild shampoo. The best that I would recommend is going for Patanjali Shampoos, bought from authorized dealers, as they are herbal and would work wonders for your hair - with no side effects.

You can prepare rosemary and lavender oil by mixing these essential oils with either olive oil or coconut oil or til oil to be messaged on your scalp. These will prevent dandruff occurring out of dry scalp.

You could also prepare a concoction of tea (black tea preferable),  rosemary and lavender, and wash your hair with it after shower. This will work wonders ( may be you turn out to be a Rapunzel!! (pun intended ))

Make up -

With a variety and multitude of products available over the counter - you are puzzled what to do!

With sales people convincing you, you find yourself amidst a harrowing experience. And, usually, your blemishes are targeted - and you are prescribed for oily skin make up products. Your eyes are targeted and you are prescribed mascaras and eyeliners and a dab of everything. Your frizzy hair equals a dry hair. And you are prescribed. And oily scalp equals oily hair and you are prescribed. Phew!!You pay a huge bill. Come home. Change your look. And a little ways this and that. And OMG....these products do not work at all. WHAT A DANGER.

Well, now your friend Prabhasini will help you out. Talking and researching across salons and beauty consultants, I have drawn out these useful tips.

1. Check your skin and hair type. Even dry skin can have pimples and blemishes. Even an extremely oily hair can have dry days and frizzes. And an oily scalp can host hairs with dry ends. And, most important - in this world of mix and match, you can have a skin and hair type which is a combination of something. Figure it first, figure it yourself. There are a variety of guides available online to help you out with it.

2.          Your eyes and the mascara - For a complete mascara guide, answering every query you have about your mascara - refer to this guide

which was sourced from the team at Reviews.com, and one of our readers like you. And here you could find useful and well researched reviews about lots of other stuffs as well, like electric toothbrush, Acne treatment (very essential for us, especially teens ), job sites ( for college grads), hair loss treatment etc.. It is their commitment to make the stuff easier for you. And, it is an amazing resource for students especially. They know that we are on budget, so they work hard and put up reviews so that we students, and for that matter anybody do not have to waste money and zero in on the right product. I recommend saving it as a bookmark. Good work reviews.com

3.    Your lips are the most affected ones this winter. And, the least thing you would wish for is chapped lips.  But, our friends out there would be wary of lipsticks. Well, out of my own experience, recommendation by experts and tested in my local regime, Lakme is a product I would vouch for. And, in case you want care with the coating - go for Nivea colored lip balms. As these would provide the necessary coating to your lips.

For your eyes, choose products suited to your skin type and eye and face shape. That will help recreate a diva in whatever look you choose to sport.

4.  And, just because the sun plays hide and seek more often, do not forget your UV lotion. In winter, the chances of skin damage by UV rays are higher. So, it is a must have in your beauty kit.

That's all for now. Stay tuned as more on how to make your life amazing and enjoyable in Christmas is coming soon...
