The Great Indian Indentity Clash - being indian, not enough

Hello and welcome back. Your friend Prabhasini is back again, and today, I am going to talk about an interesting phenomenon, which India is witnessing over the past few years - the phenomenon of establishing, or rather redefining ones astitva or existence and identity.
And, somehow, almost everyone turns up into being the most patriotic freedom fighter, who wants to separate themselves from the clutches of a whole country, as in the case of Kashmir, claiming that the whole country has been deaf towards its issues since decades, despite its rigorous, yet "peaceful" protests. And, some say they are simply executing their rights to demonstrate in a democratic country, which no one can deny, even if the nature of demonstration loosely associates with demonic clashes and bloodshed, as in Darjeeling.

Well, I discuss this topic today, because amidst all these, the people who are worst sufferers are the students, their future being covered in a dark pall. With the Darjeeling turning from being a peaceful valley to being a battle ground of Gorkha Jan Mukti Morcha, thousands of students who had been studying in the boarding schools have been stranded in nearby places like Siliguri or Jalpaiguri, in utter despair due to concern for their future. Moreover, it has also posed financial burdens over the parents, who had to lodge their wards in hotels. Even more grievous is the fact that, the children of Darjeeling,  who might not even know the meaning of politics, may be completely unaware about state economics and affairs, might not even have the faintest idea of trade relations, have become part of this GJM move, breaking tube-lights on themselves and injuring them, in a  bid to display their aversion from being a part of Bengal. And all this, inspite the hills receive full support from Bengal government, in terms of finances and other avenues, which is required for the maintenance of any area. And, ironically, all these, exactly when the state sought statement of accounts for the budget allocated to them since the last five years. And, even more surprising, all this, because one man gave enormous and excellent speeches addressing the mass, which had the powers to make the blood boil.

But, then, has anybody ever asked this question - a lot of people who wants to do something good, something having an impact on the lives of many, does it even with meager budgets. Then, how come the crores and crores of rupees that have been received, could not improve even one single aspect of the lives of these agitated people. Has anyone ever pondered upon this fact - the violence that is being deeply implanted in the hearts and minds of thousands of children, who are being used today for the political benefits of just one man, might have their lives ruined due to the impacts of this atrocious behavior, which might grow manifold in the wrathful nature of violence.
Has anyone even cared to ask the man - who addresses the mob and instigates them into lynchings and murders - where is he actually, when the general public takes to streets and suffers the pain. What exactly is his plan, if indeed he gets a separate state. How actually is he going to carve out a prosperous Darjeeling. And most important of all, are indeed his plans so extravagant that these can't at all be executed in present times. Will he ever account for the job losses that many are suffering. If the pupils, who are mostly from Bengal, withdraw their names from the schools of Darjeeling, if Bengal completely stops supporting it, will Darjeeling as an independent entity, be able to fund its operations.
Or, will then India be left to witness another set of clashes - fight of Gorkhaland to be Chinese or Nepalese and not Indian, because India has never listened to its whims, yet, the neighbours of India did.

The crown of India, Kashmir, faces a similar situation as well. And, it is indeed funny, how they cite history to justify their actions. If indeed history comes to play, then, Kashmiri Pundits, who where murdered, lynched, humiliated, robbed would say that Kashmir is and had been our land and we must be granted it. The Muslim brothers, who laid their lives for the sake of saving their bhaijaan, who might have been Hindus, would say, the land be granted to us, as it is the land of our sacrifices. And, it is well justified too. Their claim are based not on grounds of religious split, but rather for the sake of their own homeland. But, then, where from did these separatists emerge. And what exactly do they want. Are they indeed sure of what their sole motto is?
And pathetic here too, even children are agitated, and take to streets despite going to schools. Schools! What schools? They do not even exist now. All have been converted into shooting arenas or breeding grounds of these people, who have excellently good personalities, and equally unmatched skills of oratory.
But, wait, with all these reasoning done here too, of India having been deaf, and the lists of accusations that follow, have anyone cared to ask - will these Gods of nowhere, who have supported our anti-India slogans, will pay us for our own development. Because, had they had the power of development, don't you think, their own societies would have been better developed, and their own people would not have cared to flee from them.
Has anyone even thought, that why not establish a business here, where many would be employed. Bacause, now is a time of entrepreneurship, and my interaction with Kashmiri youths have convinced me that they have some of the brightest minds.
With such excellent fighting skills and spirits, has anyone ever thought of making a security system comprising both technology and people, which would be almost impossible to break.
Well, I can well answer this question - no, and not dared to. How will business thrive, if nothing except war is allowed to breed. How will anything else come in mind, if children do not or rather put this way, are not allowed to study. With so much demands for a lot of things, hasn't anyone felt or even cared to raise the demand of progress instead of shoving the entire society into glooms of ignorance.
Sometime back, after the release of Dangal, actress Zaira Wasim was criticized for her acting in the film. The message was not taken care of. Women restaurateurs in many places across Kashmir where forced to shut down, due to violence. If women work it's a problem, along with unemployment being a major issue. I wonder, how can both go simultaneously.  Or rather, I indeed wish to ask -
are you actually fully aware of what you demand, or is it just an active involvement in a passive mindset, instilled in you by some great orators.

Problems exist everywhere. The focus should be - the solutions to them, not problems. And, if you find yourself countering the solution to the problems, then stop, Think twice. Then act upon it. Do not spoil the lives of millions of youth for a reason, you yourself are not fully sure of .
