A driving race - called Life!

Driving at over 100kmph through the race called Life. Congratulations before your crash.

Peter wanted to hug Raina. Walk along Parc la Prairie while enjoying bird music in the tranquil silence. Enjoy the gurgling waterfalls. Hold hands. Kiss the life and time they had together in Ifrane - a town called the Switzerland of Morocco. As time passed by all Peter wanted was to build a time machine and stop the time then and there.

Peter and Raina are a couple - married officially, although when I met them they were yet be married at heart. Peter is a professor of Artificial Intelligence while Raina works as an investment analyst. Raina was in Morocco on some business trip. And Peter - had come down all the way from Los-Angeles to meet her as they hadn't met over a year. Simple put - Raina couldn't find time beyond her professional commitments to be with her husband and two-year old son.

She was always on the chase to achieve - something - which she couldn't herself define but thought that she is chasing success, hence she was always busy.

While Peter was patient, kind and caring - Raina was quite the contrary : rash, impatient. But, for sure she loved Peter. However, in Morocco, she was only here to crack a deal and not romance her husband. While for Peter marriage was a journey which had just begun 3 years ago. For Raina - it was like another goal of her life, she had already accomplished it so forget about it.

Hence, when Peter wanted intimacy she wanted to go back to their hotel - to her laptop. She couldn't help checking her phone every minute for any updates. She was so engrossed with the deal and it's issues that she even felt the very presence of Peter as irritating.

And finally, the volcano erupted. They had a serious fight over their differing personalities. And even while her marriage, the person who loved her the most in this world and her child was concerned Raina couldn't care less. All she could think about were presentations, client meetings, figures, etc. And in the midst of this ensuing fight of commitment vs indifference Peter suddenly dropped a nuclear bomb on Raina - he criticised her rash behaviour and mocked that she couldn't drive a car properly because she is rash.

Well, this woman could take everything but not a criticism for something she loved doing. And Raina loved speed. She was an accomplished racer. So naturally, she took up the challenge and told Peter that she would drive all around the town and if they reach hotel safely she would no longer wish to see Peter.

With his heart torn completely, Peter agreed leaving everything in the hands of Almighty.

After all, Raina was the love of his life, the mother of his child and someone he treasured the most.

Finally the race began. And as expected Raina caught up on speed. More speed. And even more speed. She overtook almost all cars on the streets. That encouraged her further. Then they entered a forest - track. And Raina drove as though she was flying a plane. Now Peter started feeling dizzy. He repeatedly started calling out to het to watch out - to slow down. She took no heed. She wanted to reach the destination. She wanted to win - and at that moment her win to finish the drive all around Ifrane and return to hotel and dump this slow man from her life forever.

Unaware of exactly where she was going - suddenly, she saw that there was no road in front. Oh God. She tried to stop the car from falling off the cliff but she had accelerated it beyond control. And - the tragedy happened.

They met with a severe accident. Both jumped off the car. But to save Raina, Peter jumped later only after ensuring her safety. This caused him to be brutally injured. Both lost consciousness. After a while when they regained senses, Raina looked for Peter. She took his head upon her lap. He was bleeding profusely. Sadly, he was breathing his last. Smilingly and lovingly he looked at her and said - you wanted me to go away and I couldn't live without you. So, God granted both of us a beautiful solution - I can watch you from heaven above while you can enjoy life without me.

She began crying. She realised that she was about to loose a part of herself which she had conveniently ignored. She realised that it was she who had brought death to him. And finally Peter closed his eyes - forever.

And Raina screamed - NO!. NO! Please don't leave me and Go! I love you Peter. Please don't Go!

And - she felt something like a vehement hug. It was Peter. PETER. Her dear Peter. And she looked around.
Well, she was in her bedroom - lying on her bed with the love of her life: Peter. Concerned he asked her what had happened.

She realised - it was a nightmare. She hugged him. For the first time after an year almost they had the most passionate and intense moments together. And the next day instead of worrying about anything else Raina spent the day with Peter. Well he was surprised, yet extremely happy. And as for her - she understood that God had given her a premonition with a warning.

He asked her - what had happened. She said - she had missed an year of her life with him and as long as they have the time together she wants to enjoy every precious moment with him. She felt like she wasn't this happy ever before. It gave her the satisfaction she was searching for all through. She learnt her lesson well.

So, dear readers - the next time you feel you are on a mad driving race called life - stop before you embark. Think. Think logically with what you have with you to enjoy already before you begin chasing something you don't even know about.

After all - A bird in hand is worth two in bush didn't come up just like that. Did it!

And unlike Raina, it may not be a nightmare but a real situation.
