Why am I not a Superstar's Child

Hello and Welcome back to all students very own blog  -  The Student's Life.

Of-late your friend Prabhasini, well, that's me, have been traveling a lot. And if you need to feel the real essence of India, nothing can stop you from booking your entire journey by train. And that's when I came across an interesting topic - a query which almost every child has  - Are my parents Superstars, or rather, why am I not the child of a Superstar. And, I am pretty sure, before realizing that your parents are the real superstars in your lives, every student does put up  this daunting query - why isn't my parents' like Akshay, Shah rukh, Salman, Sachin, Federer, Peter Facinelli, David Beckham, and the list continues...

Well, with the increased presence of media, the game of access has become far more easier. We just need to type through the latest trends and styles of our favorite heart-throb superstar, and we just need to get-set and compare. And then, upgrade ourselves to fit in the frame. And, we also wish to change everything, including our parents to suit the lives of our superstars, as we deem it to be absolutely perfect.

And, if something - like a trait, say, heroism, bravery, guts, grit and gumption, or maybe a habit like being punctual, exercising daily, etc, is really good, there is absolutely not reason in not embracing these qualities and imbibing these into us.

But, what we forget is the thin line between - copy and imbibe. What we completely forego, is what our parents actually usher into our real lives - and the reality check of our superstars' lives. What we fail to assess is, what exactly makes us, and what all is good for us.

Let us first recollect - our parents are there for us always. When we are hungry, when we are hurt, when we are happy, when we are given projects or face difficult homework, when we need a support, when we need to catch a glimpse of something far taller than our height, when we are in a crowd - they are the one who are always there with us, for us.  And they will continue to be so. In case, they seem to be away, and not understand us, its not because they do not wish to, rather, its just because of two prime reasons -
   1. They want us to learn the stuffs for ourselves. They want to give us the lesson of self-dependence. Just that, they wish that we put our grey cells to work, so that, one day, finally when we indeed depart from their lives to achieve our dream degree, or dream job, or dream career or life, they can be sure of our well being, based on the abilities we demonstrate to have. And, in-case we lag in any critical area, they actually seek to figure that out, just in order to groom us up.

 2. They earn. After a lot of toil, hardwork,  they get their salaries. Every parents earn, both for well-being of their children, and also for their livelihoods. And, to be true, everyone tries to the best of their abilities to earn as much as possible so  as to provide the best of the available facilities to their children. But, indeed a few things become out of bounds, as we can do by thinking just about ourselves, but, they need to think about everything else, that gives us an overall secured life. So, they simply show a disinterest, yet, the fact is - they are really hurt on the inside for not being able to fulfill our wishes. And, secretly, they wish that we learn to value something, and achieve it in our own terms using good means.

Today, even the autographs of great people come after a lot of hue and cry. And most of the times, they donot come even. But, these people - collectively called parents, however they may look like, whatever their style be like, whichever region they may belong to, they never fail to love us. And, from the core of their hearts, they always seek to protect us from all adversities, whatever the society and the environment has to  present.

Any superstar is the person, who is an idol, who has a heart of gold, who fights off all villains, who can overcome any hardship, who can stand as a firm support for his family, who performs his duties professionally.

So, if we match our parents' true daily deeds with these, I believe, we would surely find a strong resemblance with that of a superstar.

So, aren't we the children of a superstar.
