Want to ring Christmas & New Year, flaunting great hair and skin - Pollution might be ruining your plans
Hello and welcome back everyone!
So, all set for Christmas and New Year and wish to welcome 2019 with great enthusiasm, glowing skin, good shape and gorgeous hair and raise the toast to a great health. Wait a moment! The great grey shroud of Pollution is in great form to ruin all your plans.
Almost everyday, leading newspapers publish the reports that - irrespective of whether you are a smoker or not, everyone in Kolkata is smoking cigarettes. The situation is getting worse day after day. And, the situation isn't much different in other states as well.
Take a look at the data obtained from cpcb.nic.in - http://cpcb.nic.in//upload/Downloads/AQI_Bulletin_20181210.pdf
This table clearly shows that among all the Metro cities in India, Kolkata is the most polluted one. It's pollution is comparable to the industrial towns of India. Despite having better transport and pollution control systems in place as compared to upcoming cities like Jaipur, Ahmedabad and Patna, ironically, it still is getting increasingly polluted. The levels have reached to such extant that one wonders if live in a city or inside a coke factory.
And to add to the agony, many across the city are developing severe respiratory problems.
But, wait, it is not just restricted to that. Do you wonder why all your gym schedules are yielding no result of late. Are you freaking about those useless - yet expensive parlour treatments. Your skin and hair doesn't seem to glow despite whatever you put in. And Kolkata and all other Indian cities are not just plagued with one but multiple forms of pollution.
So, whatever you try is surely going to be in vain - because Pollution is all set to ruin your plans to look great.
Research has clearly established that Noise pollution and obesity are directly proportional to each other. So, however hard you crash your diet, exercise harder and follow new regimes and challenges getting viral in social media, Your OBESITY problem isn't somehow going to leave you soon. Reports from survey data obtained from NFHS reveals that after Hyderabad, Kolkata comes second in obesity, followed by Delhi and Mumbai. So, the next time before you turn to accuse your gym trainer for being insincere in their effort, turn to your neighbouring driver and ask him / her to avoid unnecessary honking.
Along with it - air and water pollution together is rendering a grey cover not just in the environment, but in you too. That premature grey strand, those dark spots and dull-dry skin, UV ray damage etc. is all for the sake of pollution. It is not difficult to understand why - our older generation remained young for a longer tenure than us, had grey hair later than us and had brighter-wrinkle free skin for long.
But, we are all content with cursing the govt. or other authorities, and frown at our parlour bills. Well, if we really care and wish to be savvy financiers of our budget - it's high time we start taking charge for ourselves. Simply brooming the dust away for a mission called 'Swachch Bharat' will not help until we each become 'responsible units of Swachch Bharat'. How ??? Follow these -
1) Plant shrubs and trees in your vicinity to increase source of oxygen.
2) Make sure that only restrictive vehicles pass in front of your home or if the kind and number is not restricted - enforce stringent rules to prevent honking.
3) Although it might seem uncool - refrain from smoking. Apart from causing your own cancer - you are becoming murderer of an entire society.
4) Regularly check for pollution control systems in your vehicles, to control emissions.
5) Don't honk unnecessarily and protest against others who do so.
6) Even if you have the habit of throwing chewing gum sheets or toffee wrappers hither-tither, refrain from doing so. Plastic is the major cause of water pollution.
Let's join hands in reducing pollution to tolerable levels.
Stay tuned for the next. Till then, Stay healthy, Happy and Safe.
