DISCLAIMER - My real name is Pranjita Chakraborty, 'Prabhasini' is my pen name taken from the name of my Great Grand Mother. It is a silent, yet strong move challenging the notion held especially in Indian societies, that having a girl child erases the name of the family, and a boy is needed to carry the legacy forward. This move is to immortalize the name of my Great Grand mother in such a diverse web-space, where, this name would reach far and wide and be alive forever.
It is a tribute to Prabhasini Bhattacharya and a move for reforming these stereotypes, still held strong by many.
