Theoritical concepts or Practical reality

So, you and your best friend are always on a debate with each other over this very serious issue. And, you seek a solution to it, too. He or she is your best friend after all. But then, you also do not wish to give up your stand. Now, what to do. Well, don't freak out, with your friend Prabhasini standing stout. Let's dive into this confusing battle of ages between theory vs. practical, and solve it once and for ever.

Now, first of all, we all must know, that we all are different. And this is the essence of life and key reason for celebration. So, its really really important and also essential for everybody to understand, what works the best for him / her. Someone might be a completely theoretical person, while the other - a purely practical person. Hence, lets initially determine - the type which is suitable to you. So let's begin...

You love to know the Reason Why. You love to spend a lot of time gaining a deeper understanding of the underlying principles which leads to certain phenomenon, giving you the general picture of an occurrence and propose the reason why something works better than other. But, you are contempt with the picture just as that, you do not like to be confronted with moderate to extreme dynamism, and consider facts more eshtablished and acceptable than change. You have a photogenic mind, atleast to some extent, and tend to write answers which has resemblance to the notes you prepared. And, your friends also call you a damn book-worm.

If this is you, than theoretical works best for you. Maybe you are in for taught courses or such research studies, wherein you do not have a lot of hands-on. Maybe you secretly love the life of lawyers or doctors - who read read read a lot. You may secretly be a philosopher too.

On the contrary, if you match this profile -

You are extremely, or even may be to some extent - creative and innovative. You love to get set and put down your hands on every thing. You don't mind to mess things up, which you later fix and also at times make a much better or completely new stuff out of it. You just can't seem to mug-up things and practical experience is all you seek. You need to understand a thing by actually seeing / hearing / feeling the phenomenon. That's how you seem to grasp the concepts at work. You are adventurous and your curiosity keeps you exploring.

Well, then you are sure a practical oriented person. And, practical experience works best for you.

Now, that you know what works the best for you, choose wisely according to the exact match. Because, just like simply copying leads to grave fashion blunders, copying a lifestyle-without judging its match with you is also a serious trouble. **

But, what about the tussle you had with your best friend. Well let's sort it out, because, friends esp. good friends are an asset to life. Consider these few tips:

1. Although, theory is definitely important, knowledge of practical application of theory is equally important, at times, even more.

2. We live in a practical world. And most of the theoretical concepts are based on the assumption of an ideal condition for the sake of the study, which, practically might tend to be non-occurring. Hence, when you have to work out in real life in jib field, a sound understanding and experience of this practical phenomenon, is very important.

3. Research over the years has revealed that practical knowledge completes the theoretical study, without which mere theory is not even equivalent to learning.

4.And, as always, a skill set of both theory and practical will always help you esp. for future interviews.

So, it is better to leave aside the  differences of personal opinions and join hands with your friend. Share whatever you learn. That way, you will be nurturing a very strong asset of your life, along with helping your own self as well.
