Another expert, Sumit Agarwal who is Professor of Finance and Real Estate, Low Tuck Kwong Professor and Deputy Head (Research) of the Department of Real Estate at NUS along with being the Research Director at the Centre for Asset Management Research & Investments (CAMRI) at NUS Business School, in his article The impact of superstition - Writing on the walls which in the website link : http://thinkbusiness.nus.edu/article/the-impact-of-superstition-writing-on-the-wall/ resonated the same feelings. According to him, the fear of loosing out or being harmed prompts people to engage in activities which are purely illogical, and often, leads to fatal consequences, which has negative impact not just on our environment, but also on our own self belief.
Now, the most important question is, what to do then. There are three Actionable steps that can be taken:
1) Engage with your prep materials and disengage with the media. For a short while though, its going to provide you with the necessary digital detox as well.
2)Have a sound preparation plan, believe in it, and follow it. After all, nothing can be a better predictor and guarantor of your success than you - yourself
3)If in case, you still-do come across certain things which instills a negative fear in you, say to yourself -

These three mantras will definitely help make life simpler for you.
